A day in the life of a neurotic newsstand owner.

The fictional story of an ex-football star, Johnny Dunn, who moves far from the spotlight after a family tragedy to a small, desert town he owns called Jake's Corner. This dramatic comedy is a cross between Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) and "Northern Exposure" (1990). Set in the real town of Jake's Corner, Arizona, it is a rest stop for travelers making their way through the Arizona desert, but for the people who live there, it's a rest stop for life. Johnny and the eclectic ensemble that live and work in the town occupy trailers behind the Corner Store and Jake's Corner Bar. Through the years, this cast of misfits has become closer than most families - they are kin. The dynamic of the town is changed forever when Johnny's young nephew comes to live with him.

Martys Corner is a one hour comedy variety late night television program that has been on the air for over 16 years!Hosted by Marty Shields and was on the air in the City of Hacienda Heights from August 20, 1993 - February 21, 2009 until the show's TV station, KCAT was shut down by it's board of directors.Over the years Marty has had different co-hosts, and side kicks. Loree Sobrito, Frank Atencio, Leann Engel, Darlene Marcuzzi, Tony Ridley, and DJ Leonardo Flores.The show broadcast LIVE as close to once a month as possible. It gave a venue for local bands, comedians, authors, politicians, and any other fascinating person who wanted the chance to have their talents seen. There are 120 episodes of Martys Corner.

Per a review of an episode in an issue of Billboard, this series featured demonstrations of new products, interviews, and quiz segments, all in the space of a 15-minute time-slot.

The world lost Hayden Hunstable to suicide in the middle of the mandated stay-at-home orders on April 17th, just 4 days before his 13th birthday. Hayden did not struggle with depression nor did he have a history of mental health problems. He was a normal healthy and happy kid who was unprepared for social isolation. His parents attribute Hayden’s emotional suffering to a “perfect storm of routine disruption, social isolation, increased gaming, and a pressure stack of activity cancellations,” all created by the government’s mandated stay-at-home orders in the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
